The survey can contain both completed and incomplete answers. Completed responses are those where the survey has been completed, i.e. the submit button has been pressed.
The program makes autosaves in the background. The first autosave is made when all mandatory questions on the first page have been answered. Subsequent autosave will be run when the respondent changes pages and if he/she presses the Save and continue later button. If the answer is not completed, i.e. not submitted, it will be saved in the system as an incomplete response.
In certain situations, you may want to report not only the completed responses, but also the results of incomplete responses.
There is a specific setting for reporting incomplete responses. This setting is survey-specific and is set in the results view of the survey.
You can find this setting on the right-hand side of the results view, below the Time range filter.
You can include completed responses, completed responses and incomplete responses, or just incomplete responses in the report.
- The setting is the default setting for the survey in question and is visible to all users who have access to the results view.
- Changing this setting changes the view for all users of that survey.
- The same option will remain selected the next time the survey is opened.
Important!
When reporting incomplete responses, it is important to note that depending on the distribution method of the survey, there may be incorrect answers in the responses. Incorrect responses may occur, for example, if the first question of the survey, e.g. NPS, is embedded in an email and the recipient uses a link tester that automatically clicks through all the links in the survey. Similarly, the respondent himself may go through the questions of the survey by clicking on the random options with the intention of going through the questions of the survey.
